Had a very bad stomach ache (or rather gastric pain) throughout the day. Yet, it was still a nice day with lotsa hiccups and laughters.
First up, we, the 5 gals from ESE (or the so called WONDERGIRLS in ESE), went for a site visit at IUT Composting site. We went there to interview the plant manager, so as to get more information about composting in Singapore. We are working on a project about Composting. So, there 5 of the gals started their excursion to the very ulu side of Singapore , ie. TUAS. We lost our direction in the midst of the industry area. Thus, we called the plant manager to ask for direction. **DADA* In the end, the plant manager sent a driver to pick us up. WAH! VIP treatment ya. So, there goes our interview with the plant manager. A pretty nice guy with tonnes of experience in operating and managing the plant. The way he speaks and presents himself reminds me of my site manager during my internship stint. Does all the top managers speak in such a way? Hmmm....Maybe this is their secret to success. Luckily, we did some homework on the composting project and HOLA, we didnt embarrased NUS. Subsequently, we took a short visit on site. Yes! As expected, composting site doesnt really smell good, in fact, it stinks a bit. BUT YEP, not too bad.
After an enriching site visit, there comes the TALENT OLYMPICS (aka our annual talent time for hall). I sang 2 songs with Eusoff Choir -- Stardust & Over the Rainbow. We sounded OK despite the pretty bad environment. Secretly, I think I am really not suited to be a soprano. Come on, I cant memorize lyrics. I am better in singing accompaniment, ie. all the DIM DUM DOOM BOO BA DA OO. But well, shall give it a try since my range is in between sop and alto :) After that, it was our a cappella performance. We sang 2 songs -- I'll be & Heaven is the place on earth. Personally, I feel that there is room for improvement. We can do much better with more prac and yep, attend the sound check. Singing in MIC is different. Well, Handy said we should have training for SOLO. YES! EVERYBODY is going to be a soloist. Good training. We need to sharpen/enhance our singing skills.
After typing this blog, my gastric pain sort of subsided. Darn. I did eat on time. WHY do I have still have gastric pain today? SIGH. My stomach doesnt love me. Sob :(
