When will I cycle again?

" When will you cycle again? "

This is the last question from my site manager. For a moment, I don't know how to answer. This question is not merely a simple question. It contains my 12 weeks of wonderful experience at PB Power, under Power Seraya Cogen 30 and 40 Project.

*****************************************
At this very morning during last reading week, which is around April, I received a "surprise" call from PB Power. Why is it such a surprise? A pleasant surprise indeed especially when you have sent out many resumes to companies, yet, no reply is received. Not only so, it is a surprise especially when someone from such a big company (PB is an international firm with HQ at USA) called you in the morning, telling you that they are recruiting you for this summer, offering you relatively attractive allowance, and there is not even a need to go down for an interview. I was trying so hard to get myself awake and answer the phone call. Hola! So by some luck, I got this internship and there I ended up interning in Jurong Island for 12 weeks.

Bicycle is the main mode of transportation in the power plant. One may wonder why do we need a bicycle? Cant we walk? Oh well, I dont think you would like to walk for 1 km just to get to your office everyday. So, throughout the 12 weeks, bicycle is my best friend or maybe I should put it this way -- my most useful friend. I bet I will miss my cycling day. Definitely I will.

My colleagues on site are extremely friendly people. Some said that "ahya, normally people will treat intern better". To some extend I really agree. But well, their friendliness is far beyond that, and I really appreciate it. The chit-chat session during lunch time, the chill out session during tea break or the monthly get-along session form part of this wonderful memory. I didnt feel alone though I am the only intern there (Ok.actually I wasnt the only one...but well, it is too long a story to explain. I shall skip this). Being the only few girls on site always put me under the limelight. Funny enough. People actually came to me and say " Hey, I saw you at NUS last night. You stay in Eusoff Hall, right?" OK! I hope I wasnt that prominent on site. Generally, people on site are very good to me. Are they trying to be a gentleman? Perhaps. One thing to highlight. Koreans are indeed a courteous bunch of people. Asian values can be easily seen on them.

So when my site manager asked me to help out during my next holiday, I actually very much wanted to say YES! However, most probably, I wouldnt be able to do tat since I will leave for my exchange program latest by January.

Hopefully, I will still be able to keep in touch with my wonderful colleagues.

Back to student's life.
** Secretly, I still prefer life as a student.**

Holiday is here.
Touring around KL and Genting from 2-5 August.
Family trip at Sungai Lembing from 8-9 August.

School starts on 11 August.

Adios~
